Frequently asked questions
Everything agents ask about The Walkthrough: what it is, what it costs, and how it's different. The app is live on the App Store, free to download; if your question isn't here, email [email protected].
The basics
What is The Walkthrough?
The Walkthrough is an AI roleplay app for real estate agents. You talk out loud through the conversations that decide deals (the listing presentation, the commission objection, the FSBO and expired-listing call, the lowball offer, the inspection renegotiation) against an AI client that pushes back like a real one. After each session it gives you a forensic debrief: not a grade, but the specific moment you lost the room and what to do differently. It's practice reps for the high-stakes conversation, taken safely, before there's a real commission on the line.
Who is it for?
Residential real estate agents who want to get sharper at the conversation without burning real clients to do it. It's built to help new agents get reps they haven't had a chance to accumulate yet, and to let experienced agents drill a specific objection or scenario before a big appointment. It's also offered to teams and brokerages that want it as a shared training rail for their floor.
Do I need to be a new agent to get value from it?
No. New agents use it to build reps from zero; veterans use it to rehearse a specific room (a tough seller, a price-reduction conversation, a renegotiation) before it's real money. The research is clear that practice pays off most where feedback is specific, and that's true at any experience level.
What it covers
What scenarios can I practice?
The conversations that actually decide listings and deals, including:
- The listing presentation: winning the room and defending your price and your value.
- The commission objection: "your fee is too high," handled without dropping your number.
- The FSBO call: the for-sale-by-owner who insists they've got it handled.
- The expired-listing call: the seller who has heard every pitch already.
- Buyer-side conversations: the buyer consultation, the buyer who questions your fee, the cold feet.
- The lowball offer and the inspection renegotiation: the negotiation moments where a deal lives or dies.
Both seller-side and buyer-side conversations are in scope. That range is deliberate, because the deal can be lost on either side of the table.
Can I practice my own specific deal, not just a generic scenario?
Yes, that's the design. You can set the room around the actual appointment in front of you: paste in the listing, the buyer brief, or the seller's last message, and The Walkthrough builds the persona around it so you're rehearsing tomorrow's real conversation instead of a textbook one.
Recording & privacy
Does it record me?
The Walkthrough is a conversation practice tool, so a session necessarily processes what you say in order to roleplay back and produce your debrief. It isn't a surveillance tool or a CRM. It's there for you to practice. For the exact, binding detail on what is captured, how long it's kept, and what is and isn't shared, please read the Privacy Policy, which governs over anything summarized here.
If my brokerage gets it, can my broker read my transcripts?
The team and brokerage offering is built so principals can see drill activity (that agents are practicing) rather than reading individual session transcripts. The intent is a training rail rather than a monitoring tool. Specific data handling for team plans is covered in the Privacy Policy and any brokerage agreement.
Price & platform
How much does it cost?
The Solo plan is $9.99 per month and includes 30 reps and drills a month, the seller, buyer, FSBO and counter-offer personas, and a forensic debrief on every session. You can cancel anytime in your Apple Account.
For teams and brokerages, pricing is negotiated per organization: a brokerage-branded shell, custom drills, and activity visibility for principals. Contact us for team pricing.
What does "30 reps" mean?
A rep is one practice session or drill: a run at a scenario that ends with its debrief. The Solo plan includes 30 of those per month, which is a meaningful daily-practice habit rather than a hard wall you'll hit on day two.
What platform is it on? Is it live?
The Walkthrough is a native iPhone (iOS) app, and it's live on the App Store now. It's free to download, with an optional Walkthrough Pro upgrade. Download it on the App Store. There is no Android or web version announced at this time.
How the debrief works
What is the "forensic debrief"?
After every session, The Walkthrough plays the conversation back as a forensic read rather than a score. It points to the specific moments that mattered: where your value framing slipped, where your commission defense wobbled, where an objection got past you, and whether you recovered. The goal is to surface the one line where you handed away leverage, so you know exactly what to fix before you do it for real.
Why feedback instead of just a grade?
Because a number doesn't tell you what to change. The research behind the product is consistent: practice transfers best when the feedback is clear and specific. A "7/10" doesn't move the needle; "here's the moment the seller stopped listening" does. The research page lays out the evidence in full.
How it's different
How is this different from Tom Ferry's Revii?
Revii (from coach Tom Ferry) is a real estate productivity app that bundles several tools: push-to-talk roleplay is one of about four features, alongside an AI coaching chat, market-content generation, and an admin assistant. The Walkthrough is built to do one thing: be a dedicated practice engine for the conversation, with the forensic debrief and seller-and-buyer-side scenario range as the whole product rather than a sub-feature. We're also iOS-native at $9.99/month. For a feature-by-feature breakdown, see the comparison page, and note that Revii the app ($19/mo) is a separate thing from Tom Ferry's human coaching ($749–$2,999/mo).
How is it different from human coaching?
Human coaching (a Tom Ferry, a brokerage mentor, a roleplay partner) is genuinely valuable and does things software can't: real accountability, whole-business strategy, a person who knows your market. The Walkthrough isn't trying to replace that. It fills the gap that coaching can't: on-demand, unlimited reps, anytime. A coach gives you a session a week; The Walkthrough lets you run the same room ten times tonight, get a specific debrief on each, and have the dreaded objection automatic by the time the real appointment comes. It's the practice between the coaching, at a self-serve price with no $749–$2,999/month contract and nothing to cancel but a $9.99 subscription.
Will the AI client really push back, or just roll over?
The design intent is real resistance, not a yes-man. The persona is built to defend its position (the seller who insists on the Zillow price, the buyer who questions your fee, the FSBO who's sure they don't need you) because practice against a pushover doesn't transfer to the real room. One of the things the research warns against is theatrical, scripted roleplay that doesn't predict live performance; the goal here is the real conversation rather than a performance.
